Growing up is inevitable and comes alongside a lot of decision-making that is very important for personal growth. It takes a lot of dedication, hard work, and patience for someone to climb to the top of their professions and as hard to keep the position. Everything we do requires passion and determination in order to achieve our goals.

At the age of twenty-three years old, Mario Anthonio Maitland, is the creator and the Host of “What’s Next Podcast & What’s Next Kentucky Radio.

Maitland opened his first ever episode with a popular clothing brand owner out of Atlanta. He has interviewed various individuals such as musicians, doctors, and brand owners across the globe. What’s Next Podcast interviews focus on a broad category of discussions which include what each guest has coming up next within their career path, while What’s Next Kentucky Radio, a spinoff of What’s Next Podcast features lively discussions on sports, culture, current events, and news in the Kentucky area. With expert insights and a fresh perspective from hosts, Mario Maitland, Maliek Winfrey, and Jacob Carpenter.

Mario was born in an African American culture in Long Island, New York, and even grew up in the same town (Roosevelt NY) as the great Julius Erving and Eddie Murphy. Mario Maitland was the youngest among his two brothers namely, Malik Maitland and Ed Maitland. The family, however, moved to Daytona Beach, FL when he was only thirteen years old. He grew up together with his two brothers showing a lot of interests in different fields of education and sports. He is a great sports fan which is clearly seen in his love and passion for the basketball game which is one of his hobbies. Others include watching documentaries, resistance training, and coaching.

During his early life in Daytona Beach, Mario was always interested in watching interviews which were the greatest inspirations to him while he was growing up. He was inspired by many different people with different professions and careers across the different spectrums of the world. Many of these icons are great scholars, researchers, artists, and many other highly recognized world leaders such as Barack Obama, Stephen A Smith, Michael Jackson, Oprah, Dywane Wade, Mary J Blidge, Will Smith, Kevin Hart, Jalen Rose, and Kobe Bryant.

Maitland spent his childhood time with a basketball-involved family and he frequently participated in training with his friends and older brothers, where he managed to be the top basketball player in the local area at a young age. Growing up, Maitland liked to listen to sports podcasts and sports broadcasting shows to better himself as an individual and stay updated with the world. This was a good and exhilarating exposure to him since it gave him the idea and an opportunity of starting running his own podcast to motivate and inspire the young generation.

After completing his high school education, Maitland attended the University of Kentucky where he received a bachelor’s degree in History in 2021. Maitland took various classes, which included a podcast class and an introduction to film class which taught him the logistics of creating a podcast. The knowledge and the experience that he gained from the university put him in a position to become the source of inspiration and motivation to the millennial generation worldwide. Mario has highly been driven by his unflinching beliefs in inquisitiveness, growth mindset, taking advantage of opportunities as they arise, and being original in his work. He has dedicated his life to providing the audience with genuine information that can change their life through the podcast.

Mario continues to encourage not only the younger generation but everyday common people of this earth. Maitland emphasizes that everyone should stay dedicated to their craft and continue to be resilient in striving for their goals.
